Sanae played tennis at Division 1 College in Japan.  After graduating from college, she played in domestic open tournaments and won several championships in doubles! Sanae taught at a university in Japan and was given the opportunity to study abroad in the United States.  She studied English at a summer school and an extension school at Harvard University, and completed her MA in Sports Science. Sanae has been playing in the USTA 5.0 league for nearly 20 years. She has been coaching tennis for almost 20 years at YTC and in the summer at Picquet Lane Pool Club and others.
