Raul is an Ecuadorian native, where he started to play tennis at the age of 4.
Growing up, he had the chance to attend some of the best academies and received the best training from Andres Gomez and Raul Viver.
During his junior tennis career, he won different tournaments around Ecuador, ranking #1 at the age of 10, 12, and 18. Also, he achieved professional success at the ATP level, getting ranked in the world at 1,662. He is also member of the Ecuadorian Davis Cup team.
Raul graduated in May 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Jackson State University (NCAA Division 1). As far as his college career went, he enjoyed both academic and athletic success, earning Dean’s list acknowledgment. On the court, he was #1 in both doubles and singles, earning multiple S.W.A.C All-Conference accolades along the way.
His favorites hobbies are ping pong, volleyball, paddle, swimming, and cycling. He considers himself a disciplined, enthusiastic and responsible person. His motivations are his family and his desire to get ahead.
