Antonio, a native of the Dominican Republic, started playing tennis while working as a ball boy at the Casa de Campo resort in his home country. He became one of the highest ranked junior players in the Dominican Republic before beginning his coaching career in 1998.  During that time he studied at UCE in the Dominican Republic, majoring in computer engineering. He came to the United States in 2005 and 2006 to work at Offense Defense Nike Tennis Camp in Boston, Massachusetts, before joining the staff at Tennis- port in Long Island City, NY Until 2009. He then worked as a senior tennis professional at the John McEnroe Tennis Academy in Randall’s island until 2017.  Recently, he worked at the Smatts Tennis Academy In Hollywood, Florida from 2017 to 2020 as one of the head tennis professional involved in the junior development program.
