YTC Tennis Professional - Ofir Ginat
Tennis Professional – Ofir Ginat
Native of Tel Aviv, Israel, Ofir was an enthusiastic soccer player until the age of 12 when he first tried the game of tennis. He fell in love with the game instantly and with hard work and dedication (4-6 hours a day of practice), he quickly made up for the missing years and caught up with his peers. By the age of 18, Ofir had already won multiple junior national championships and achieved a top 3 ranking in Juniors in Israel.
After competing at a few International pro events in Europe and Africa, Ofir decided to compete in college tennis. His success in juniors led him to playing at Concordia College. He led the team to 3 straight East Region Championships and to a top 3 national ranking in NCAA Division 2 tennis. With him Concordia reached Nationals semi-final and 2 quarter-finals.
Ofir is also a Doubles National Champion! He won the National Division 2 Doubles Championship in 2015 representing Concordia, and was ranked no. 1 duo in the country together with his partner Mao Ray.
Ofir has taught at several different Westchester clubs over the past five years, including College Racquet Club and New York Athletic Club, and worked with players of various ages and skill levels. He enjoys teaching hardworking adults the lessons he learned on the doubles court, and working with dedicated juniors who have aspirations of being professionals or college players. He has also taken courses in Sport Psychology and uses that in his lessons to give his students a complete package of physical and mental practice.
